How to Install Third Party Presets on Your Xiaomi Phone
Clear guide for importing third party presets into Xiaomi camera and fixing common installation errors
If you’ve just downloaded a pack of camera presets and are staring at a bunch of .zip files wondering:
- What is Style?
- What is Manual?
- How do I import them without breaking anything?
This guide整理s all the info you gave into a clean, step-by-step blog tutorial in English.
1. Understand the Two Types of Presets
In your preset pack, there are two main types of files:
-
Style Presets
-
File name prefix:
Style -
Used to apply a complete look & color style with one tap
-
Example filenames:
Style_aurora_1720698513524_Soft_Blue_Tone.zipStyle_aurora_1720758484179_Softer_Blue_Tone.zip
-
-
Manual (Parameter) Presets
-
File name prefix:
Manual -
Store camera settings such as shutter speed, ISO, white balance, etc.
-
Example filenames:
Manual_aurora_1719557531388_Warm_Yellow_Tone.zipManual_aurora_1719558263062_Black_White_Street.zip
-
⚠️ Very important:
- Style presets = filenames starting with
Style - Manual presets = filenames starting with
ManualIf you import the wrong type, the camera will usually show an error message.
2. Before You Start: Download the ZIP Files (Do NOT Unzip)
- Download the preset pack (ZIP files) to your phone.
- All presets are in
.zipformat, and you do not need to unzip them. - Make sure the filenames are kept as they are, especially the
Style/Manualprefix.
3. How to Import Style Presets (Look / Style Packs)
Style presets are perfect for quickly changing the overall look of your photos – for travel, portraits, street shots, etc.
Steps:
-
Open the Camera app and switch to Pro / Professional mode.
-
On the left side of the preview screen, tap the Preset icon (style/preset button).
-
Tap Import Style Pack / Import Preset (wording may vary slightly).
-
In the file picker:
-
Select only the
.zipfiles that start withStyle -
For example:
Style_aurora_1720698513524_Soft_Blue_Tone.zipStyle_aurora_1720758484179_Softer_Blue_Tone.zip
-
-
The camera typically allows you to import up to around 15 presets at once, so import them in batches if needed.
-
After importing, go back to Pro mode and tap the preset icon – you should see all your new style presets there.
How to use:
- Enter Pro mode
- Tap the preset icon on the left
- Choose one preset (e.g., “Soft Blue Tone”)
- Compose your shot and start shooting – the look is applied instantly
4. How to Import Manual (Parameter) Presets
Manual presets are great for users who want ready-made professional settings for different scenes like street, low light, portraits, etc.
Steps (very similar to Style):
-
Go to Pro / Professional mode in the Camera app.
-
Tap the preset icon on the left.
-
Choose the Import option.
-
This time, select
.zipfiles that start withManual:Manual_aurora_1719557531388_Warm_Yellow_Tone.zipManual_aurora_1719558263062_Black_White_Street.zip
-
Once imported, you can choose these Manual presets in Pro mode and shoot with the saved parameters.
5. Common Mistakes & Tips
-
Do not mix up the types
- Importing a
Manualfile as a Style preset (or vice versa) usually causes an error or the file simply won’t be recognized. - If you see an error, first check: Did I choose the correct prefix?
- Importing a
-
Don’t remove the
Style/Manualprefix-
The camera uses these prefixes to recognize the type of preset.
-
If you really want to rename, only change the descriptive part at the end, for example:
- ✅
Style_aurora_1720698513524_Soft_Blue_Tone.zip - ✅
Style_aurora_1720698513524_Soft_Blue_Tone_v2.zip - ❌
AuroraSoftBlue.zip(prefix removed – may not import correctly)
- ✅
-
-
Too many presets? Import in batches
- Import limit is around 15 presets per batch.
- If you have dozens of presets, just import your favorite ones first, then add more later.
