How to Build Your Own Xiaomi Preset Pack from Scratch

Step by step for creating custom Xiaomi preset packs from base edits to organizing and backups

Buying presets is easy; building your own means every slider reflects your taste. Here’s how to craft a Xiaomi pack that feels tailor-made.

Start with a hero edit

Pick a photo that represents your ideal lighting condition. Edit it manually—exposure, color mix, curves, grain—until it screams “you.” Save it as a preset named Base-001.

Spin off variations

  1. Duplicate the base edit and tweak for other scenarios: cloudy, tungsten, night.
  2. Limit yourself to three major changes per variant (e.g., cooler temperature, softer highlights, stronger contrast).
  3. Test each version on at least five photos before saving it.

Organize and back up

  • Rename presets clearly (san-Day, san-Rain, san-Night).
  • Export the preset folder from MIUI/Gallery/cloud/.presets to cloud storage monthly.
  • Keep a change log so you know what to revert if a tweak goes sideways.

Bonus: shareable packs

Zip the preset folder, write mini usage notes, and you’ve got a pack you can gift or sell. Your custom toolkit becomes an asset, not just a one-off edit.
